People accessing Vivo Care Choices’ respite services at Dorin Court in Chester can now make the most of a brand-new games room on site.
Dorin Court offers a home from home experience for people with learning disabilities and autism and provides their carers and family members with a much-needed break at the same time.
Garage space at Dorin Court was recently converted to create the new games room, which has a pool table, TV screen, games consoles, a small bar and much more.
While people accessing Vivo’s services get out and about in the local community, this is a fantastic new facility on site for them to use during their stay at Dorin Court.
Ellie Pugh, Service Manager at Dorin Court, said: “We’re delighted with the new games room and the people we support have already been making the most of it.
“Dorin Court is only a small service with two bungalows so it’s fantastic we’re able to have this extra facility on site.
“When people visit us, they’ll be able to enjoy fun and games with their friends away from their bungalows and this’ll be particularly useful during colder months when it isn’t as easy to go out and about.
“We’ll be making sure the games room gets plenty of use and we hope it’ll attract some new clients who are looking to access respite services.”
Vivo, which is moving back to Cheshire West and Chester Council as an in-house service from April 2022, is regularly making improvements to its buildings to further enhance the experience for people using services.
