Staff in Vivo Care Choices’ supported living services were recently visited by the Major of Winsford to thank them for their dedicated work throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Vivo provides a range of flexible and responsive support for people with learning disabilities and autism and older people, including those with dementia, across west Cheshire.
At the start of the pandemic, staff had to adapt and supported living services became even more important than they already were, particularly when providing 24-hour care for those who had no other support available outside Vivo.
Despite the many challenges of the pandemic, staff have remained hard working, professional and caring, making sure everyone who depends on Vivo continued to receive a high level of support.
Councillor Nathan Pardoe, Mayor of Winsford, paid Vivo’s supported living services in the area a visit, seeing first hand all the work staff do to make sure people enjoy life to the full.
He said: “I was delighted to call in to Overdene Road and see both the staff working there and people being supported.
“You could see how much people enjoyed living there and how pleased they were with the support they receive. Overdene Road felt like a home rather than a facility.
“The pandemic has been extremely challenging for the care sector, but these staff have never given up and continued going above and beyond to make a real difference.
“It was nice to be able to say a more formal thank you to them and give them a couple of gifts.”
Alistair Jeffs, Managing Director of Vivo, added: “We’ve had so much positive feedback during the pandemic about our amazing staff and all they’ve done for the people we support.
“We’re very proud of the way they’ve constantly adapted over the last 22 months or so and we’d like to thank Councillor Pardoe for taking time out to recognise this.”
