Vivo Care Choices recently held a celebration event for Nicola, who uses its supported living services and has been busy organising collections for the local foodbank over the last couple of months.
Nicola has been working with people she lives with, Vivo staff and family members to bring together unwanted food so it can be donated to those who need it.
Along with her team of helpers, she’s been making a huge impact, gathering a record 31 kilograms of food during one week to donate to the foodbank.
Councillor Nathan Pardoe, Mayor of Winsford and Trustee at Mid-Cheshire Foodbank, recently paid Nicola a visit to help recognise the community spirit she’s shown to support local people.
Nicola was presented with a Manchester City shirt so she can cheer on her favourite team during the new football season in the latest gear.
Councillor Pardoe said: “On behalf of Winsford residents, I’d like to thank Nicola and all involved for collecting donations for Mid-Cheshire Foodbank over the past few months.
“The efforts of Nicola, her family, friends and Vivo staff have made a big difference to local families in crisis, helping keep them fed.
“I know that, as a Trustee and Volunteer, community support like this is essential to foodbanks being able to keep going so well done to all involved for making a difference.”
Alistair Jeffs, Managing Director of Vivo, added: “We wanted to recognise all the fantastic work Nicola and her team of helpers have done so I’d like to thank Councillor Pardoe for taking the time out to see her.
“She’s a big football fan so it was fantastic to see her reaction and how pleased she was with the new Manchester City shirt.
“It’s the least we could do at Vivo for all the fantastic support Nicola has shown to others in the local community over the last couple of months.”
