Nicola, who uses Vivo Care Choices’ supported living services, has been busy coordinating a weekly collection to support local foodbanks.

Vivo, which provides a range of different services across Cheshire West and Chester, prides itself on being at the heart of the community and forming connections with local people and organisations.

For around three months now, Nicola has been working with people she lives with, Vivo staff and family members to bring together unwanted food so it can be donated to those who need it.

Nicola and her team of helpers have been making a huge impact, gathering a record 31 kilograms of food during one week to donate to the foodbanks.

She said: “With the lockdown, I wanted to do something to support local families.

“I’ve been asking the staff to help me and they’re all really impressed with how I’ve been doing.

“I’ve been doing it for a while now and it’s nice being able to help other people.”

Donna, who supports Nicola at Vivo, added: “She’s doing a brilliant job organising the collections each week.

“It’s something she really enjoys doing and she’s making such a big difference to others at the same time.

“At Vivo, we always like to support people to do things they feel passionate about and it’s been great to see everyone working together to help other people.

“These have been really difficult times for us all so it’s nice to be able to give something back to the local community.”
