As part of Carers Week (7-13 June), Vivo Care Choices held informal drop-in sessions for carers and family members at Lightfoot Lodge in Chester so they could chat with the Leadership team and find out about the range of support available to them.

While the role of carers has never been underestimated at Vivo, carers across the UK and world have arguably been in the spotlight more than ever before during the COVID-19 pandemic, with many people having to take on more responsibilities.

During the drop-in sessions with Vivo, carers enjoyed a light lunch and took away a goodie bag, with plenty of useful resources and treats as a small thank you for all they do. Many of the carers used the sessions as an opportunity to find out more about Vivo’s exciting plans for the future and how they will benefit their loved ones.

Alistair Jeffs, Managing Director of Vivo Care Choices, said: “It was fantastic to see some of our carers in person in a safe and friendly environment.

“These past 15 months have been extremely challenging for many of our carers and they appreciated the chance to simply have an in-formal chat.

“We wanted the drop-in sessions to be a chance for carers to take a break, enjoy some lunch on Vivo and discuss anything they wanted to.

“We’ll be running further sessions like this as they’re a great way to engage with our carers and family members and offer them any support they may need.”

Vivo launched a Carers Blog last year as a way of keeping in touch with carers and family members by email and providing them with the latest updates, complementing the printed Newsletter that is posted out to everyone.
